The Structural Bioinformatics Laboratory, part of the Biomolecular Engineering Research Center at Boston University, is seeking candidates for a postdoctoral research position in the area of molecular biophysics. On behalf of the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT), National Research Center for Hematology (NRCH), and the Organizing Committee, we are pleased to announce that the International Conference "Instabilities and Control of Excitable Networks: From macro to nano-systems" will be held on May 25-30, 2012. We have an opening for a computational scientist interested in protein structure. The successful candidate should have a degree (or be about to obtain such a degree) in computational mathematics, bioinformatics or a related field. We will consider candidates with either a Master or a PhD degree. In the first case the successful candidate will have an opportunity to enter a PhD study. The initial appointment will be one year, with a possibility of extension. We are looking for candidates for a new research team. The lab will be located in The Institute of Biochemistry and Biophysics, Warsaw. The title of the project is: "Widespread and potent non-coding RNA in plants genome regulation, development and evolution". More information (PDF) Post-doctoral position is available in the Department of Condensed Matter Physics and Materials Science, Brookhaven National Laboratory, Upton, in computational and evolutionary modeling of metabolic and regulatory networks. Two postdoctoral positions are available immediately in the laboratory of Dr. Lilia Iakoucheva at the University of California, San Diego. Design and develop complex data analysis systems in support of cancer genomics research projects at the Computational Biology Center at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC). Join and work closely with an in-house development team and participate in several development and analysis projects. We are looking for a highly motivated and innovative PhD student candidate (~4 years) to explore the wealth of genomic data from evolutionary perspective using bioinformatics approaches. Our group has a broad range of interests related to the functional evolution of genomes, and actively contributes to international genome analysis consortiums. The specific project will be developed together with the candidate. Several positions are currently available for Ph.D. students in evolutionary bioinformatics in the Liberles Research Group at University of Wyoming. Post-doctoral position is available in the Laboratory of Motor Systems Neurophysiology, Barrow Neurological Institute, Phoenix, Arizona, USA to study synaptic interactions between identified neurons in various visuo-motor coordination pathways during movements to visual targets. Research position is available in the Laboratory of Motor Systems Neurophysiology, Barrow Neurological Institute, Phoenix, Arizona, USA to study synaptic interactions between identified neurons in various visuo-motor coordination pathways during movements to visual targets. Are you interested in interdisciplinary research in mathematics, computing and biology? New high-throughput technologies in biology have opened up exciting opportunities for numerate scientists to work in advanced areas of biological research. Our programme takes students from a variety of backgrounds (statistics, engineering, mathematics, computer science, biology, chemistry, physics) and gives them a structured training during their PhD, tailored to their needs. A postdoctoral position in computational biology is available to study transcription factor-DNA interactions in the group of Dr. Julia Ponomarenko (University of California, San Diego). Several research positions are available to early-stage and experienced researchers in the Marie Curie Initial Training Network LIMOUSINE, funded by the European Commission under Framework 7. The Laboratory of Molecular Chemical Physics at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne, EPFL, opens a PhD student position (doctoral school) in the field of experimental molecular laser spectroscopy in the gas phase. University of California at Davis invites applications for PhD program in COMPUTATIONAL BIOPHYSICS in Prof Stuchebrukhov research group, to study electron and proton transfer in proteins. A Postdoctoral Position is available in the Interdisciplinary Center for the Study of Biocomplexity, University of Notre Dame. A three-year position in computational cell biology is available in the group of Dr. Andrew B. Goryachev at the Centre for Systems Biology (CSBE), School of biological sciences, University of Edinburgh. Several PhD student positions are available in the new Computational Chemistry and Biophysics lab headed by Dr. Jana Khandogin in the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry at the University of Oklahoma, USA. Two Postdoctoral Positions (1-2 years) are Opening up at the Department of Chemistry, Umeå University, Sweden.
